Dr. Hermina Szeles has over thirty years of practical experience as a clinical psychologist in the United States, Hungary and Japan. Dr. Szeles is licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and New York State. She has been providing individual and couples psychotherapy in the Pittsburgh area since 1998.
Dr. Szeles uses a multidimensional approach to psychotherapy utilizing cognitive, behavior, and psychodynamic therapy elements. Her specialties include depression, anxiety, sex therapy, sex addiction, challenges of acculturation, LGBTQ+ life challenges, managing life transitions, and women's health. Her repertoire of specialized techniques includes relaxation techniques, Adlerian psychology, psychodrama, and psychodynamic individual therapy.
Apart from psychotherapy Dr. Szeles has a keen interest in teaching. She has been a lecturer at the Semmelweis Medical University in Budapest, Hungary and advisor on early childhood education in Japan for over thirty years. She authored two books and several articles on the subject in Japan.
